The Sentinel tennis season has started! Athletes have been busy fundraising, getting to know their teammates, and adjusting to a busy spring schedule. Students practice after school Monday through Friday to prepare for upcoming meets. The majority of practices have been at the Playfair Park tennis courts with some practices happening in Sentinel’s aux gym due to weather concerns.
The head coach, Henry Kelso, and the assistant coach, Emma Hasquet, are leading this team to victory this season with their passion for the sport. Coach Kelso is a passionate leader who enjoys inspiring his players and celebrating success and growth. He focuses on encouraging his kids to have fun to ensure they love tennis for life. He also reports that fundraising has been very successful this year. As a first-time coach, Emma Hasquet also has a passion for helping players realize this is a lifetime sport. She’s really enjoying being outside, passing on her knowledge, and having fun with this group of positive students.

Tennis is one of the few no-cut sports at Sentinel. Coaches Kelso and Hasquet are always excited to welcome students looking to learn this lifelong sport. Tryouts for Varsity happen every year in the Spring. Players are divided into Junior Varsity, which is co-ed, Boys Varsity, and Girls Varsity.
