As the leaves start to crunch beneath peoples feet and the weather gets a little colder, some people might start looking for some nice activities to enjoy while it lasts. The list below contains amusing activities to do this fall season. With some fun and some scary things to do, anyone can join in on the festivities.
There are many different opportunities to attend these events, which is really nice for the people who want to join in, but tend to be busy most of the time. Many of these activities are quick, and no one has to dedicate themselves to any of them.
Fort Missoula has been here since 1877, so it has some great history tours. In this specific tour, they teach anyone willing to listen about the history of apples. The tour only lasts about 45 minutes. Using an old-fashioned apple press and freshly gathered apples, they supply everyone on the tour with apple cider at the end. They give people the opportunity to make their own apple cider using the press. If not interested in the history of apples, one can always go for the delicious, fresh apple cider.
A great place to visit with friends is Garnet Ghost Town. It is only a 58 minute drive from Missoula, which is well worth it. With many old buildings and nice hiking trails, there are a lot of sights one can enjoy here. Most of said buildings lack a foundation, as they were made in a rush. All these houses were sloppily made because the town was made for all the miners who wanted to extract the riches from the ground. Open from 9:30am to 4:30pm, unfortunately, it is not possible to visit this haunting place at night.
All the main buildings are open October 1st, with littler ones being open other days. Since they were built in the 1800’s and happen to have been built in a rush, it makes all the buildings look especially creepy. An exciting activity for warm days here is gold panning, just like all the miners that used to live there did.
If anyone needs a pumpkin to carve this fine season, the Turner Farms Pumpkin Patch would be the place to go. They have local food trucks such as Stuffed 406, Sonora Shack, and Bamboo Bar most weekends, everyone can enjoy a great snack while looking for something to carve this Halloween season.
Open from 12-5 pm most days, one can take some time out of their day to stop by and visit this cool place. On October 19th and 20th they have a fall festival that includes fun activities like face painting, live entertainment, fresh food, and other joyous things.
This one brings the fun back to visitors’ homes, seeing as after the pumpkin is picked, there are many things that can be done with it. The main one is obviously to carve it, but there are a couple other options. With fellow mortals, one can try out their hand in baking things like pie, french toast, cream cheese muffins, and many more here. If baking isn’t something that anyone in the group tends to enjoy, there is also painting pumpkins and, usually for younger children, melting crayons onto them.
If something a little scarier is preferred over sweet fall activities, the Field of Screams is the place to go. With multiple options on how scary to have the corn maze, the 45 minute drive is well worth it. All the scare actors have splendidly scary costumes and fit right into their roles.
If being scared is not something one finds enjoyable, there is always the option of going during the day for a fun corn maze. It has different times for different attractions, which can be found here. There are also tickets online, guaranteeing an entrance for anyone with one.
Now that these activities are available, people might be able to get out of the house a little more and go enjoy them.
