SIGHTS OF SOUNDS

My band’s bass guitar

While bass might not be the most heard or acknowledged instrument in the band, it’s certainly an important one. Without bass in a song, the song feels like there’s something missing, as without a bass to back the other instruments, (guitar, drums, etc.), the song will struggle to hold a sense of flow.

My guitar used in our band

Guitar is known to have a reputation for being the lead in the band and is one of the most popular instruments in the world. You typically won’t find many songs aside from classical or electronic which don’t include a guitar, or a similar instrument, such as a piano.

Our bands drum set being played by our bassist

Drums are easily the most noticeable instrument of a song, it’s the beat after all. They have the job of maintaining tempo for the entire song and can be used to gauge the rhythm and pacing of a song. Having a drummer allows us to stretch into almost any genre with a slight change of bpm and tone.

My bands ever-growing amp collection

Without amps, our band would be quieter than a pin dropping. Thanks to these, we can practice quietly, or perform loudly. As we get better and better, our amp expenses will grow faster than we can pay for, but our sound will be priceless.

A rather informal picture of our band

What’s a bunch of instruments without a band to play them? While we’re still working on a name, we’re happy to play and practice together regardless. Whether it’s by word or by seeing us in the Hall of Fame, we’ll make a name for our self, literally and figuratively. Even if we don’t make it big, we still have fun, that’s what it’s all about.

What’s the moral of the story? Make a band. You only live once. Have fun.
