A Sentinel student welding

Tony Hemenway Spartan Scoop 2023

Sentinel High School’s welding classes have made some of the coolest stuff on our campus…from signs, to tables, to chairs. Watching this kind of talent at work is one of the most impressive sights I’ve ever seen from our student body; in my opinion, the glowing blue light of the welding arc is one of most beautiful natural sources of light you can see through heat.

Another beautiful example of natural light, sparks are another byproduct of Sentinel’s metal shop. Depending on the shutter speed of your camera, you can make sparks into brilliant visuals in photographs (you can manipulate the motion of sparks and turn them into beautiful streams of light, like fireworks).

Students like these are the future of our country’s innovation and evolution, willing to seek new knowledge and to find new ways of problem solving. Those who challenge the mind and face adversity like these students deserve nothing less than praise.

These two students on our campus use their talent not to make sparks, but art. Seeing student-made art on campus is not only a morale boost for fellow students, but serves as an example of how creative and dedicated our student body can be. These two students are a prime example of students using their talents to create something beautiful for our campus and student body alike.

One of the best things you can be on our campus is a kind, uplifting person. Being able to change peoples’ mindsets and attitudes for the better can turn around even the worst of days. Big thank you to these students for helping create a welcoming, friendly environment for others on our campus!

Whether it be intentional or not, students find ways to use their talents for good. From creating a positive learning environment, to creating art with sparks or paint, our student body manages to form a unique, inspiring, and innovative space for others to thrive and learn around. And if any students featured in this article are reading this, keep on keeping on! Students like you are the backbone of our student body and we appreciate each and every one of you! Thank you for reading!
