Things like these not only provide comfort for some students and teachers, but makes them feel more at home as well. These creature comforts help many teachers with focusing on their jobs as they don’t feel the stress of feeling away from home, as to them, they are home

My locker is my home away from home, literally. I have everything from posters, to equipment, to clothes in there, making my own little slice of campus. I tried my best to decorate it how I’d decorate my room, chaotic. Thanks to my locker, I have a safe space on the campus I can call my own, this not only makes me feel more at home, but makes me more comfortable during the school day

Mrs. Burke knows how to make her students and herself feel at home, whether it be through lights or a collection of mini items. Lots of Mrs. Burke’s students admire her collection as much as she does. A former student of Mrs. Burke, Tony Hemenway, comments, “Mrs. Burke’s mini’s not only brightened my mood every day, but made her classroom feel like more of a home”.

Paul and Dina not only bring me immense joy, but other members of the Spartan Scoop staff as well. If it weren’t for these creatures, there truly would be no point in working for the Spartan Scoop. In all honesty, the glow of the lights and friendly, cute shapes can brighten even the most down people on some days. They are not only a good light source, but a good happiness source as well.

Mrs. Bathjes room is by far one of the most comfortable rooms on campus, with lights, collectibles, and more, there’s something for everyone in her room. One of her rooms highlights however, is her pop collection. Scattered throughout her room you can find many figures of some of your favorite pop culture characters. Mrs Bathje herself told us that they help the classroom feel like more of a homey and comfortable work environment

A picture of our unofficially sponsored U.S Army Log

This log is from the fire fair held from Sentinel High School in late September of 2022. It currently resides in my friends locker and it is always a joy to see as it reminds us of simpler times. Along with the joy of simply possessing it, it smells of pinewood and forestry, this reminds me of home. While it may just be an inside joke and a piece of wood, the Army log will forever bring me comfort on campus.

I believe that if teachers and students alike continue to make the school more attuned to and comfortable to them, that we as a student and teacher body can be more productive and overall more comfortable, happy, and safe on campus.
